Home Made Rissoles

Ingredients  (makes 8)

250g (8.8 oz) minced meat (beef, pork, turkey)

1 large onion, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

2 eggs (lightly beaten)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

75 g (11 tablespoons) breadcrumbs (see below to make your own)

Method

1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients and mix with a fork.

2. Shape 4 tablespoons of mixture into rissoles (lightly packed). Then throw the rissoles from hand to hand to remove air. 

3. Place rissoles on a plate and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

4. Cook in a heavy-based frypan with a small amount of canola oil (or similar). Turn them frquently, until cooked through.

Serve with tomato sauce, peas and potatoes.

Make Breadcrumbs

Put day old  Toast bread until golden and dry. Break the toast up into small pieces. Put the toast into a blender or food processor and process until desired breadcrumb size is achieved.
