Fasr Stovetop Chicken Souvlaki With No Skewers


Ingredients

1/2 kilo boneless skinless chicken breast (1 pound, approximately 3 cups)
1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
1 lemon, juiced
1 tbsp olive oil
Pinch of salt
1 tsp garlic powder 

Pitta bread

1 packet of mixed leaf salad

A couple of tomatoes, sliced

Method

1. Combine the Italian seasoning, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder and salt, in a bowl. Mix together well.

2. Cut up the chicken breast into 2.5 cm (about 1 inch cubes). Then put chicken into the Italian seasoning marinade and mix about.

3. Heat oil in a frypan, add the chicken and cook 4-5 minutes without moving the meat, allowing it to sear well. (Searing chicken, quickly cooks the chicken over high heat to create a golden, crispy exterior, while keeping the interior juicy and tender)

4. For  4-5 minutes, stir the chicken occasionally, making sure all sides are browned.

Serve in pitta bread with salad, chopped tomato and tzatziki (store bought or make here).
