Chick Pea Patties

Chick Pea Fritters

Ingredients

I stale wholemeal bread roll, soaked in water

2 cups of canned and drained chick peas

1 medium onion finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried cumin

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 egg

breadcrumbs

Canola or sunflower oil for frying

Method

1, Squeeze water out of the bread roll and tear into smaller pieces.

2. Put bread roll pieces, chick peas, onion and garlic into food processor and puree.

3. Add cumin, baking powder and egg and small amount of breadcrumbs if too moist. Mix to combine.

4. Divide evenly into patties. After heating a small amount of oil in a frypan, cook on each side for 3-4 minutes until golden.
